VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES
There are a number of ways to get involved with the UNB Mentoring and provide your expertise and knowledge to UNB students.
OPPORTUNITY #1 - Panel Discussions and Presentations
As a UNB alumnus, you can serve as a speaker or panellist to represent specific degrees, industries, trends and /or professions. With your help, the UNB Mentoring Program supports various networking events, small group discussions and special presentations to groups on campus and through special seminars.
OPPORTUNITY #2 - Networking Group
Be a member of our Networking Group. The UNB Alumni Office hosts speed networking events that allow students a quick and valuable means of connecting with alumni and professionals to quickly network and gather information. Networking events facilitate the opportunity for students to meet career minded alumni in a structured setting that provides them the chance to quickly meet people and learn networking skills. In a Networking Event, each attendee is “guaranteed to meet more people than [he/she] typically would using traditional networking practices during the same amount of time.” Speed networking relieves participants of the stress of introductions as attendees all have a single purpose.
OPPORTUNITY #2 - Mentoring
As a UNB alumnus/a, you take time to share your professional experiences and insights. Career Mentoring opportunities offers short or long term career guidance to students via e-mail, phone or in person. A guided session is provided to give you and your student the tools to develop a strong and productive partnership. Career Mentoring opportunities are offer as either a one-on-one experience or as a group mentoring experience (2-3 students per group). Resources are provided to give the mentoring relationship tasks and direction if desired.
